Course Description

The CTR 8740 is the industry’s most powerful microwave indoor unit and a full featured router, customed designed for integrated wireless transport, and delivering on 5G requirements. It is a fully integrated microwave networking solution, delivering a unique combination of high capacity all-packet transport, Carrier Ethernet, IP/MPLS and Layer 3 services, and comprehensive mission-critical microwave features. The CTR 8740 is the common router solution for all RF deployment options with Layer 2 or Layer 3; one solution for indoor, outdoor, and split mount deployments.

 

The CTR8740 Installation, Operation and Maintenance course teaches students key functions of the CTR8740 platform. The course includes an overview of all available modules and the chassis, initial setup, installation and login, configuration with CLI and GUI, system commissioning, diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Extensive hands-on labs (nearly 50% of the course duration) offer students with scenarios they will face in real deployments in their networks.

 

Courses are conducted by AVIAT expert trainers in a mentoring environment backed by their deep technology expertise and experience in implementation of microwave wireless and IP networks.

 

The CTR 8740 Installation, Operation and Maintenance course is conducted online, scheduled to fit the customer time zone.

 

Target Audience

This course is intended for installation and service personnel responsible for installation, configuration, test, and maintenance procedures for the CTR 8740 platform.

 

Prerequisites

1. Participants must complete CTR 8740 System Overview e-learning course.

2. Participants should have a basic understanding of Electronics, Telecommunications and IP Fundamentals and have basic computer skills.

3. Each student must have a Windows laptop/PC and administrator rights on the PC (to allow installation of the required tools/applications).

The PC must have minimum parameters of:

• Pentium 4 or later w/ 1GB of RAM and 250 Mb of free hard drive space

• Microsoft Windows XP, Vista, or Windows 7

• WiFi/Internet enabled

 

Objectives

Upon successfully completing this course, participants will be able to perform:

  • Basic installation and configuration of the CTR 8740 equipment
  • Provisioning of features such as Management, RF Links, VLANs, Q-in-Q, LACP and L1 Link Aggregation
  • Basic diagnostics, troubleshooting and preventive maintenance for CTR 8740

 

Key Features:

  • Session will be conducted by an Aviat Certified Trainer
  • Multiple sessions of 2- or 3-hours maximum depending on the course curriculum & standard duration
  • Realtime video conference sessions to be scheduled according to your availability
  • Maximum 8 students per WebEx session
  • Trainer will have direct access to equipment setup in a lab environment for demonstration
  • Realtime equipment configuration demonstration from the trainer
  • All students will have real-time video interaction with trainer for question and answers
  • All students will receive Certificate of Completion
  • Post Virtual Classroom Support: 2- hours consulting and remote support- per case basis.

“Final Acceptance” means testing of the Equipment following installation by Aviat Networks at Customer’s site(s) under the terms set forth in the Statement of Work and may be performed on a link by link basis, or when live traffic is cut over, or when the Customer has beneficial use of the Equipment, whichever occurs first. The following table provides the coverage duration for the types of warranties applicable. Please refer to your product ordering guide for the applicable warranty policy for that equipment, service or software.
