WZF-L1LA-VA
WTM 4000 Vendor-Agnostic Layer-1 Link Aggregation (W48 and W4880 only)
Layer-1 Link Aggregation Vendor Agnostic (L1LA VA) is used when we have equipment that doesn’t
support bandwidth notification (ICFs). The difference between L1LA and L1LA VA is in configuring
fixed capacity on primary units. Fixed capacity is set to capacity of secondary radio link because we
don’t have information about capacity of secondary link.
L1LA VA can be arranged between a primary WTM 4800 or WTM4800DC and secondary
third-party Ethernet path.
The L1LA-VA configuration is like the ordinary L1LA, with the only change that the fixed-bandwidth
configuration, representing the external link capacity, is given non-zero value. To enable L1LA link
operating properly, this value shall be lower than the external link capacity. Note that each VLAN
tag added contributes 4 additional Mbit/s to the member data stream. The reserved bandwidth field
may be used to deduce the member data stream bandwidth. So, the total L2 bandwidth, in Mbits/s,
generated towards the member traffic is: (fixed-bandwidth) - (reserved-bandwidth) + 4*(no of Vlan
tags). External radio link bandwidth is often advertised as L1 Ethernet, which may be some per-cent
larger than the L2 bandwidth
